The Community Garden - part of St. John’s Spiritual Park

The Spiritual Park at St. John's is there for the whole community to enjoy. Fresh produce is donated to the Fare Share Food Bank through the season. Drop in to play, to listen to the birds, to walk your dog or sit and think. Everyone is welcome.

Calling volunteers!

Are you interested in helping us to get growing? We need volunteers throughout the growing season - individuals, families and classrooms to serve in various roles.

SPRING:

As a Seedling Foster Parent, you would start seeds indoor in late March to be transplanted into the garden in May. St. John’s provides the seeds, potting soil and growing trays. The Seedling Foster Parents provide sunny windowsills and TLC.

SUMMER:

Watering, weeding, and harvesting continue through the good weather. Faithful volunteers are needed to come by on schedule for these tasks. Individuals can sign up for one week in the summer or a regular day through the season if that is easier. It takes many hands to ensure that these thirsty plants are well watered and cared for.

FALL:

Final harvesting, clean-up, putting away equipment and ensuring everything is ready for the winter.

WINTER:

Planning for next year is always fun!
