A Lenten Journey

Monday evenings, 6 - 7:30 p.m.
from February 12 - March 25

In-person at St. John's
and online

Hosted by the "Deacon Duo", Deb and Shane

Dietrich Bonhoeffer was one of the leading Christian theologians of the twentieth century, an ecumenical leader, and the author of spiritual classics like Discipleship and Life Together: A Lutheran pastor, he was a courageous leader against Hitler and the Nazis in Germany in the 1930s and 1940s.

Toward the end of his life, in a letter to a friend written from his prison cell, Bonhoeffer confessed:

"What is bothering me most incessantly is the question what Christianity really is, or indeed, who Christ really is, for us today"

Every generation of Christians must ask this question within the complex and concrete realities that provide the immediate context for their faith and life. This study will help you do just that.

You will be given the opportunity to reflect deeply on a selection of readings from Discipleship and Life Together, two of Bonhoeffer's most widely read books, readings that may well change the way you think about Christian life and faith.
